Are You Certain?
Series: 2 Timothy
Uncertainty about our faith is something that I think every Christian struggles with at different times. We may feel uncertain about God’s direction, presence, or provision in our lives. Our struggle may be with uncertainty about the truth of God’s Word in its entirety. We may even struggle with uncertainty regarding the reality of our salvation from sin through faith in Jesus Christ.
God wants His followers to be certain. As Paul passes on his final words to Timothy, seeking to encourage the young pastor in his ministry, and to remain faithful to the truth handed down from God in Christ, he aludes to three areas of certainty that strengthen our Christian faith: 1) The Certainty of Who Christ is Assures Us of What He’s Done; 2) The Certainty of the Gospel Truth Gives us Stamina for Enduring Suffering; and 3) The Certainty of God’s Faithfulness Guarantees the Believer’s Future.
The certainty of salvation is found through faith in Christ and is guaranteed by God’s faithfulness.
2 Timothy 2:8-13

May 31, 2026Going All InSeries: 2 TimothySome jobs are just hard. They may be extremely physically demanding or mentally taxing. Some jobs have long work hours; others carry inordinately high levels of stress. Still, there are people who regularly perform whatever work it is. Just because something is hard doesn't mean we should avoid it or that it's not worth doing. It simply means that we have to go all in and give it everything we've got.It is not news to most believers that faithfully following and serving Christ is hard work as well. There are just times when it is really difficult to live the way God calls us to live.In 2 Timothy 2:1-7, Paul encourages this young pastor, and all believers since, to commit to giving Christ our all. Six encouraging truths can be noted in this passage: 1) Find Strength in God's Grace Given to Us in Christ; 2) Faithfully Share God’s Word with Others Who Will Do the Same; 3) Focus on Serving the Lord, Free of Distractions; 4) Follow God’s Plans to Prepare for Spiritual Endurance; 5) Fruitfulness is God’s Blessing on Hard-Working Believers; and 6) Fervently Seek the Lord for Spiritual Understanding.Faithfully following and serving Christ is hard work. - May 24, 2026What Does Faithful Living Look Like?
May 24, 2026What Does Faithful Living Look Like?Series: 2 TimothyWe have all manner of examples all around us. We learn from others from our very first days – learning how to talk and walk, how to read and write, how to mow the lawn, load the dishwasher, fix the car, get stains out of our clothes, and things far more complex. This is no less true in our spiritual lives. We learn from the examples of other Christians, from examples in Scripture, and, of course, from God’s commands to us in the Bible. If you want to live a life of faithfulness to the Lord, look to His Word, and to the examples of faithful Christians. There are 4 points I believe we can draw from our study in 2 Timothy 1:13-18 this morning; two come by way of command, the other two by way of example. Paul’s words encourage us to: 1) Learn from Faithful Teaching and Live It; 2) Faithfully Guard the Gospel Treasure; 3) Don’t Forsake the Faith or Your Christian Friends; and 4) Seek to Serve Faithfully to Your Final Days.Follow good examples of faithfulness.2 Timothy 1:13-18May 24, 2026To watch the video of this message, click here.

May 10, 2026A Recipe for WisdomSeries: Mother's DayI wouldn’t call myself a cook, by any stretch of the imagination, but I tend to do okay if there are instructions I can follow. Recipes are very helpful, especially good recipes. This morning I want us to look at A Recipe for Wisdom. God has given us His instructions for living our lives according to His plan, helping us to become everything He has created us to be.The author of Psalm 119 gives us a clear look at God’s recipe for wise living in verses 97-104. As we go through this recipe, we’ll see 4 things: 1) The Primary Ingredient of Godly Wisdom; 2) The Measure of Godly Wisdom; 3) The Desired Product of Godly Wisdom; and 4) The Enjoyment of God’s Wisdom.A love for God’s Word leads to growth in Godly wisdom.Psalm 119:97-104May 10, 2026Mother's DayTo watch the video of this message, click here.

May 3, 2026Loving the Lord’s ServantsSeries: (All)Paul devoted his entire Christian life to preaching the Gospel and establishing churches as he traveled the first century world. But, in 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13, he encourages the church to be grateful for their own leaders. In looking at this text, I want to commend our church family for doing so well at caring for their leaders. We will also take the opportunity at the end of the service to honor our former pastor in his retirement by granting him the title, Pastor Emeritus, and thanking the Lord for his years of faithful service.Be grateful for those who devote their lives to serving God.1 Thessalonians 5:12-13May 3, 2026To watch the video of this message, click here.

Apr 26, 2026A Know-So SalvationSeries: 2 TimothyThere are times when each of us can struggle with spiritual discouragement as we wrestle with the sin in our lives. We can feel hopeless that we will ever be able to obey Christ the way we want to; we can even be tempted to feel ashamed, not only of ourselves, but of our Christian faith. After all, the things Christians believe does make them stand out in our faithless culture. How are we to feel when others reject or ridicule us for our faith in Christ? Where can we find our hope?Paul’s words to Timothy in our passage this morning provide us with an answer. We will find encouragement as we come to understand and trust in God for our salvation. Three things come to light in our text: 1) We Are to Reject Ungodly Shame, Even in the Face of Suffering; 2) We Are to Find Strength in the Assurance of Salvation; and 3) Be Confident that Christ Can Keep You to the Very End.Our salvation is assured through faith in Jesus Christ; we need not be ashamed for He holds our future.2 Timothy 1:8-12Apr. 26, 2026To watch the video of this message, click here.

Apr 19, 2026Fanning the Flames of FaithSeries: 2 TimothyIn the opening words of his 2nd letter to Timothy, the apostle Paul encourages Timothy to fan the flames of the gift God has given him. You could say that keeping our faith at the right spiritual temperature allows God to best work in us and through us.This morning we are going to begin a study of 2 Timothy together. After taking a few minutes to look at some of the background to this letter, I want us to see 3 things in Paul’s introductory words: 1) Spiritual Life Comes from Our Loving Lord.; 2) Spiritual Growth is a Gift of God Which Requires our Cooperation; and 3) We Share a Responsibility to Encourage the Spiritual Growth of Others.Be thankful for your spiritual heritage and encourage the spiritual growth of others.2 Timothy 1:1-7Apr. 19, 2026To watch the video of this message, click here.
- Apr 5, 2026The Suffering Servant, Our Savior
Apr 5, 2026The Suffering Servant, Our SaviorSeries: EasterWhen God sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins, it was not some last-ditch effort to fix things; God wasn’t caught by surprise, being forced to make a hasty decision. It was planned from the beginning. In Gen. 3:15 God already showed that His plan was to send a Savior for humanity. The Apostle Paul explains in 1 Cor. 15:3-4 that Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection all took place, “according to the Scriptures.”This morning I want us to look back at single chapter of Isaiah, and a prophecy which was written over 700 years before the life of Christ. In Isa. 53 God explained what He was going to do to bring salvation to humanity, and some of the details that would be involved. Our passage is neatly divided into 4 paragraphs of 3 verses each. The conclusions that we can draw from each of these paragraphs include: 1) The Savior Was Scorned by Those He Came to Save; 2) The Savior Was Punished for Sins as Our Substitute; 3) The Savior Suffered Willingly and Silently; and 4) The Savior’s Sacrifice Was Fully Satisfactory.Jesus bore our sins to bring us God’s offer of forgiveness.Isaiah 53:1-12April 5, 2026Easter SundayTo watch the video of this message, click here.

Mar 29, 2026A Love without LimitsSeries: EasterWhat would it be like to hear from someone who dined with Jesus just days before His crucifixion? What would he tell us about the woman who brought the perfume to anoint Jesus with? And, how does her gift relate to what Jesus was about to do for us in going to the cross?Join us as we enjoy a dramatic presentation of the truth of Matthew 26:6-13. What we discover is that it all has to do with love. Jesus showed us the greatest example of a love without limits in laying His life down for us. The woman's gift demonstrated that she loved the Lord without limits. Our calling is to do no less.Love the Lord without Limits.Matthew 26:6-13Mar. 29, 2026To watch the video of this message, click here.
- Mar 22, 2026Fighting the Good Fight
Mar 22, 2026Fighting the Good FightSeries: 1 TimothyThere are a number of places in Scripture where God calls us to strive for peace, and to demonstrate gentleness and meekness. At the same time, however, He calls us to fight. We saw how God equips us for the spiritual battle when we studied the Armor of God from Ephesians 6. But, our fighting is to be done in the right way, and about the right things – we are to fight the good fight. As we finish our study of 1 Timothy this morning we see Paul penning his final thoughts to Timothy. These last 3 paragraphs of the letter leave us with 3 final instructions: 1) Honor God by Obeying His Calling; 2) Follow God’s Wisdom on Handling Worldly Wealth; and 3) Guard the Truth and Stand Firm in the Faith.Pursue Christlikeness and be a blessing to others as God has blessed you.1 Timothy 6:11-21Mar. 22, 2026To watch the video of this message, click here.
