Depending on God in Your Daily Life
Series: Psalm 119
Try as we might to be independent, we all need help.  On every level, we are dependent on God for our daily existence, and we need to look to Him for help in every circumstance.

In Psalm 119:17-24, the psalmist does 3 things:  first, he prayerfully clarifies our dependence on God for everything in life.  Secondly, he contrasts the desires of those who long for obedience with those who pridefully and willfully continue in disobedience to the Lord.  Finally, he cries out to God for deliverance from difficult times and difficult people.

When we face difficult times, we need to look to God and His Word for deliverance.

    Better Than 99.44% Purity
    Series: Psalm 119
God wants to help us to become 100% pure.  In Psalm 119:9-16 we are presented with a basic ingredients list for personal purity.  The 1st ingredient is The Right Attitude – we have to recognize the struggle we face to be pure, and remember that God is our help.  The 2nd ingredient is The Right Source – if we’re going to be pure, we need to go to the One who designed & defined purity – God Himself.  The 3rd ingredient is The Right Response – to be pure requires us not only to know what to do, but to actually do it!

Personal purity can be ours if we make obedience to God and His Word our priority.

    Walking According to the Word
    Series: Psalm 119
When it comes to instructions, we always have 2 choices – we can either obey them, or disregard them.  Obeying God’s instructions is the primary idea that is conveyed through the longest chapter in the Bible.

As we dive into a study in Psalm 119, we'll start with a little background to this wonderful Psalm.  Then we’ll look at 3 things in the 1st section of 8 verses:  we’ll see the Benefits of Obedience, we’ll look at God’s Perspective on the Priority of Obedience, and finally, we’ll consider what ought to be Our Prayer for Perseverance in Obedience.

Let’s make a lifestyle out of obedience to the Lord.
