In the three short verses at the end of 1 Timothy 3, Paul mentions his purpose in writing the letter – that we will know how to live in God’s church. He wants us to understand how we are to behave in the household of God.
There are 3 points we can identify in these 3 verses. The first one could almost escape our notice, but is worth mentioning. Paul gives us the example of 1) Seeking God’s Direction in All You Decide to Do. From there he goes on to encourage all in the church to 2) Live a Life that Pleases the Lord. The final verse of the chapter is a short hymn of sorts that spells out basic truths about Christ. Here the apostle encourages believers to 3) Ground Yourself in the Truth of the Gospel.
Christians should be known by their Godly behavior and Biblical beliefs about Christ.
