Christians die in order to live. In Romans 7, Paul begins to explain what place the Law has in the life of a believer, now that Christ has come. He makes 4 suggestions in verses 1-6. 1) The Law only has authority as long as we live; 2) Through faith in Christ we have died to the Law; 3) Because we died to the Law, we are now free to live under God’s love; and 4) Death to the Law produces fruitful servants, not flagrant sinners.
True freedom comes not from following rules, but from following Jesus.
