After the Resurrection
Series: Easter
Over the 40 days following His resurrection Jesus appeared to multiple people. There is much we can learn from each of these experiences, as Christ used that time to instruct, to encourage, to challenge, and to commission.
Join us as Pastor McLain leads us through a study focusing on seven truths we learn from the post-resurrection appearances of our Savior: 1) Jesus was Really Resurrected; 2) What our Eternal Body will be Like; 3) The Bible is Christ-centered; 4) The Mission of the Church; 5) The Continuing Presence of God; 6) The Place of Israel in God’s Plan; 7) Jesus will Return.

- Apr 5, 2026The Suffering Servant, Our Savior
Apr 5, 2026The Suffering Servant, Our SaviorSeries: EasterWhen God sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins, it was not some last-ditch effort to fix things; God wasn’t caught by surprise, being forced to make a hasty decision. It was planned from the beginning. In Gen. 3:15 God already showed that His plan was to send a Savior for humanity. The Apostle Paul explains in 1 Cor. 15:3-4 that Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection all took place, “according to the Scriptures.”This morning I want us to look back at single chapter of Isaiah, and a prophecy which was written over 700 years before the life of Christ. In Isa. 53 God explained what He was going to do to bring salvation to humanity, and some of the details that would be involved. Our passage is neatly divided into 4 paragraphs of 3 verses each. The conclusions that we can draw from each of these paragraphs include: 1) The Savior Was Scorned by Those He Came to Save; 2) The Savior Was Punished for Sins as Our Substitute; 3) The Savior Suffered Willingly and Silently; and 4) The Savior’s Sacrifice Was Fully Satisfactory.Jesus bore our sins to bring us God’s offer of forgiveness.Isaiah 53:1-12April 5, 2026Easter SundayTo watch the video of this message, click here.

- Apr 20, 2025Viewing Life Through the Empty Tomb
Apr 20, 2025Viewing Life Through the Empty TombSeries: EasterIf someone asked you to prove that Jesus was resurrected from the dead, could you do it? Jesus’ resurrection must be true, because if it’s not, then the whole Christian faith collapses. Thankfully, Scripture gives us plenty of evidence that Jesus was truly raised from the dead. But, there are a couple of critical questions we need to ask ourselves: First, do we believe it's true? And second, am I living like it's true? Our study takes us to Matthew 28:1-15 where he provides ample 1) Evidence for Christ's Resurrection. After a detailed look at the evidence, we'll turn to consider our answer to the question, 2) How Should Christ's Resurrection Affect our Lives?Jesus died for your sins and rose again to offer you forgiveness and eternal life. He died for us; let's live for Him.Matthew 28:1-15Apr. 20, 2025Easter SundayTo watch the video of this message, click here.
- Apr 13, 2025Faulty Expectations?
Apr 13, 2025Faulty Expectations?Series: EasterPeople have a number of differing expectations of Jesus – Who they think He is, what they expect Him to do for them, and so on. By the same token, God has expectations of us too – how we ought to strive to live and care for others. On Palm Sunday it’s common for us to focus on Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the week before His crucifixion. We’re going to look at that event and consider some people’s faulty expectations of who He was and what He was going to accomplish. After that, we’re going to examine 2 other episodes from early in that week to help us understand what God expects of us.God wants us to grow the spiritual fruit of unwavering faith, believing prayer, and intentional forgiveness.Mark 11:1-25Apr. 13, 2025Palm SundayTo watch the video of this message, click here.
- Mar 31, 2024What Are You Waiting For?
Mar 31, 2024What Are You Waiting For?Series: EasterWe hate to wait. It’s just not something we typically enjoy in our fast paced western culture, particularly not in California. Most probably feel that waiting is nothing but a waste of time.On Easter we celebrate the day the Lord Jesus Christ was raised from the dead and left the tomb empty. And, since that glorious day, we’ve been waiting… waiting for His return… waiting for the trumpet to sound and for Christ to descend with a shout and gather God’s children to Himself. In this message, we're going to talk about waiting: 1) Waiting for the Wrong Thing; 2) Waiting for the Wrong Reason; 3) Waiting in the Right Way.We need to actively wait as we anticipate our Lord’s return.Selected ScriptureMar. 31, 2024Easter SundayTo watch the video of this message, click here.

- Apr 2, 2023When the Crowd Greeted the King
Apr 2, 2023When the Crowd Greeted the KingSeries: EasterAs we come up on Easter there is a critical question which has been asked and needs to be answered. It’s not a riddle, but it has been called a mystery. The answer to the question is vitally important, because it will directly impact a person’s future. It is a question Jesus asked His disciples, and it’s the same, unspoken question that people were faced with at a parade nearly 2000 years ago. Simply stated the question is, “Who is Jesus?”Luke’s account of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem before His arrest and crucifixion shows us a variety of answers to the question, “Who is Jesus?” Let's consider the answers illustrated by the people who were there, how Jesus answers the question, and then talk about people’s answers today.Jesus is the King who came in peace & will come again in power.Luke 19:28-44Palm SundayApr. 2, 2023To watch the video of this message, click here.
